Mai 2012, ein Workshop im Museum für Kommunikation in Berlin, mit Julia Vernersson und Christophe Vaillant
Just really nice…
… really. Today we wished we had a video camera, because we were having a beautiful sunny bike ride, picking up a lot of banners we got donated and it just looked freaking nice on the bike!! Never, ever, ever, ever a car again!
A big thanks to the Haus der Kulturen der Welt who supplied us with the banners!
The banners will become a lot of pretty things and bags in no-time. We are looking forward to make a cover for the Kiezmobil with our new industrial sewingmachine, and allready next week some kids at the Eduard Mörike Grundschule will make a pfandtasche … If you feel like trying it out yourself, there is an open pfandtasche workshop the 27.05.12 at the Museum for Communication.
.. and yeah, If you wanna build your own D.I.Y. bike, don´t heasitate to pass by the Open Design City this weekend… There is going to be a great workshop to make a nice bike… More info here. It will looks something like this:

Pfandtasche goes Kieznetzwerk!
The 17th of December the Pfandtasche appeared again - this time we had a great time in Neukölln. The workshop was part of the first Kieznetzwerk event - a platform for practically sharing ideas and workshop concepts.
The week before we recieved a suprise donation of a beautiful red banner (it litterally came walking into the hang-out place of the pfandtasche crew). We brought a lot of it to the workshop - and guess what - the most enthusiastic bagproduction team in history showed up. A bunch of Neukölln kids made bags with us in the speed of light! If you thought making bags was a slow and tiresome process, there were creators on the banner ready to prove you wrong. In a few hours the active visitors managed to make as much as 3 bags each! Phew!
The banner can now be seen on the streets of Neukölln in shape of the brightest red bags around. This time you will notice a pfandtasche when you see it! Big thanks to all visitors of the workshop - old and young - and to Andreas for delivering us the banner!
The results of the Kieznetzwerk workshop will be presented in an exhibition in the Dritte Raum in January.
See you at the Dritte Raum!
Your Pfandtasche team!
The next Pfandtasche workshop is coming soon!
Join us on the 29th november at 19:00, at Open Design City
In the do-it-yourself Pfandtasche workshop you will design your own bag, and will get introduced to the PVC banner material.
We work only with recycled materials, using as little energy as possible. You will learn how to easily turn old commercial banners, PET bottle tops and bicycle tubes into a practical bag. The Pfandtasche is constructed by using PET-bottle tops as connectors and you need neither thread nor electricity!
Price incl. material costs for 1 bag – 25 Euro
Sign up for the workshop here!
Last saturday Pfandtasche was ready to hit again - we made great bags at Recycled Creativity Festival. So many people joined the workshop that we ran out of material by the time it got dark! We brought 3 boxes of tools and bottletops and something like 10 meters of wide banner material… It was perfect! Some new designs were made - and a pfandtasche backpack! See you in the next workshop!
A special thank you to SNPR for the nice photos! Who did not see enough of them here - check out the full series!

Banner-bags and minimalistic teabag books!
The first pfandtasche workshop is prototyped…! We joined the Lange nacht der wissenschaften at the Grimm Zentrum, to make smart banner bags, minimalistic teabag books (we recently discovered its possible to write well on teabags with ink and pens) and press buttons.
The bags were made out of commercial banners, put togheter with a connector from upcycled pet-bottle tops, a design developed by Christophe Valliant. If you like the sound of this 100% upcycled bag, using no electricity and not even thread, you got a chance to join the process and make your own bag on sunday afternoon at the umweltfestival.
See you there!
